HamCalc provides:
- Free antenna design calculators for amateur radio operators
- Educational content about antenna theory and design
- Tools for exporting and sharing antenna designs

All services are provided "as is" and free of charge. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of our service at any time without notice.
3. Acceptable Use

4. Amateur Radio License Requirements
Important: HamCalc provides tools for designing transmitting antennas. Operating radio transmitters requires a valid amateur radio license in most countries.
You are solely responsible for:
- Ensuring you have the appropriate amateur radio license before transmitting
- Complying with all FCC regulations (in the United States) or equivalent regulatory requirements in your country
- Operating within your license privileges and authorized frequency bands
- Following power limits and technical standards for your license class
5. Calculation Accuracy and Disclaimers
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER
While we strive for accuracy and use established formulas from recognized sources, HamCalc is provided for educational and informational purposes only. The calculations and results:
- Are theoretical estimates based on idealized conditions
- May not account for all real-world factors affecting antenna performance
- Should be verified with physical measurements and testing
- Are not a substitute for professional engineering analysis
- May contain errors or inaccuracies despite our best efforts
You use HamCalc at your own risk. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, reliability, or suitability of our calculators for any particular purpose.
Always verify calculations independently and follow safe building and operating practices. When in doubt, consult with experienced antenna designers or professional engineers.
6. RF Safety
High voltages and RF radiation can be dangerous.
You are solely responsible for:
- Understanding and following FCC RF exposure guidelines (MPE limits)
- Maintaining safe distances from antennas during transmission
- Properly insulating high-voltage components (especially tuning capacitors in magnetic loops)
- Following electrical safety practices when building antennas
- Ensuring antennas are properly installed and grounded
Our RF safety calculations are estimates. Always verify with proper measurements and follow conservative safety margins. If you are unsure, consult the ARRL RF Safety page or an expert.
7. Intellectual Property
The HamCalc website, including its design, text, graphics, code, and functionality, is owned by HamCalc and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may:
- Use our calculators for personal, non-commercial purposes
- Share links to HamCalc with others
- Export and save your own calculation results
You may NOT:
- Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without permission
- Frame or embed HamCalc content on other websites without permission
- Use HamCalc branding or trademarks without authorization
8. User-Generated Content
Your calculator inputs and results are processed entirely in your browser and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers. Any designs you create using HamCalc remain your property. If we add community features in the future (such as sharing designs), additional terms will apply.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
HamCalc, its creators, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from:
- Your use of or inability to use HamCalc
- Errors or inaccuracies in calculations or content
- Antenna designs based on our calculations
- Personal injury, property damage, or equipment damage
- Violations of FCC regulations or other laws
- Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
This includes liability for damages caused by errors, omissions, interruptions, deletion of files, defects, viruses, delays in operation, or any failure of performance.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless HamCalc and its creators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service, violation of these Terms, or violation of any third-party rights.

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to HamCalc immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms of Service. Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease.

Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms will be brought exclusively in the courts located in the United States, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in such courts.
15. Severability

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and HamCalc regarding the use of our service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
